The Original...
'Save Our History'
SHOW

War Memorial Auditorium
Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33304
February 10th, 11th & 12th 2012

The original ‘Save Our History’ show will not be like any antique, arms and armor, museum trade, Civil War or military event that you have ever attended. The theme of ‘Save Our History’ separates this function from all others. This exhibition allows the public to view the finest museum quality historical artifacts and gives them the opportunity to “Buy a Piece of History” at the event.

People visit museums, historical societies and special exhibits all over the world where they are able to view objects from the finest historical collections, but they do not have the chance to purchase and own these items. At our show, they can! A "window of opportunity" will be open. Because of the current economic conditions; museums, historical societies and private collectors are reevaluating the directions of their collections and making available great, one of a kind, never before offered pieces. Our experienced exhibitors have access to these items and will be making them available.

This three day event will be at the height of the winter tourist season and does not conflict with any major events locally or nationally. Fort Lauderdale, Florida is located in the heart of South Florida between Palm Beach and Miami. This tri-county area has a population of five million to draw from. With the amount of local and national advertising that has been planned there should be record attendance. These ads are slated for publications dealing with the museum and trade, antique and collector, military and Civil War, and arms and armor fields. Local advertising will include television, radio, billboards, and newspapers, and tourist-oriented publications.

The three day event will be both inside and outside of the War Memorial Auditorium. Outside, living history exhibits will include Seminole Indian War, Civil War and WWII encampments along with live fire and battle demonstrations. Within the building our exhibitors will offer some of the finest examples of rare and historical artifacts that can be had anywhere.

Inside the hall there will be 8’x10’ and 8’x20’ draped booths, 8’ draped tables, and free form display areas for cannon and Gatling gun exhibitors. There will also be a specially designated area for items relating to Florida History, plus an art section with Florida and military history artists and institutional displays.

This should be an exciting and interesting event that has never before been done, and should prove valuable to the public and profitable to the exhibitors. Our purpose in promoting this show is to bring in new people who have never really had the opportunity to collect history. We want these people to enter a world they’ve never seen before. Many people today are missing the joy of collecting tangible objects of history. They are missing the “thrill of the hunt”. Our task is to assist them in quests to own wonderful connections to the past.
